Jeevan Jyoti Charitable Foundation was officially established in 2001 by Dr. Ruby who worked as a voluntary medical doctor and prayer counsellor at PHO/Saheli, Murgi Gali, Budhwar Peth, Pune. 

• In 2005 the center opened as a drop in medical clinic in what was a former brothel.

• In 2006 Children's Ministry was established for those up to age 12. 

• In 2008 pre-school (age 3-5) was established and regularly works with 10-20 children. 

• In 2011 a regular Friday fellowship meeting was established to attend to the spiritual needs of those in the Red Light Area.
